In the house I grew up in, books and paper were the holiest of holies. Some mothers teach their daughters how to sew or to cook, my mom taught me paper craft and a love for letterforms. How it is then, that I made it to the age of thirty without realizing there was such a thing as a degree in graphic design, I'll never know, but somehow I think I have a greater appreciation for having finally found my niche after trying on and discarding several other professions. As for goals and aspirations, I try to keep my vision wide open. Experience has taught me that life's best gifts often come in unexpected packages. There are a few items, however, that I will hold out for in a career. At the end of each work day, I want to know several things: that I have remained true to myself, that I have challenged myself both creatively and professionally, that I have participated in an exchange of ideas with other creative people, and, last but not least, that I have shared in a few good laughs.
